Our History
In 1996, two entrepreneurs had a better idea. Amid growing awareness and concerns about the quality of drinking water in the workplace, our founders utilized cutting-edge technology to create a revolutionary water dispenser that purifies water at the point of use – on site in the office, warehouse or shop floor.
Since then, PHSI has grown dramatically, helping organizations all over the world improve the quality of their beverage systems.
1996 Pure Health Solutions, Inc. was founded

Based in Vernon Hills, IL, PHSI operates globally. Sales and service support centers are located in North America, Europe, the Middle East and Asia. PHSI manufactures its water coolers in a company-owned facility featuring unmatched engineering and manufacturing capabilities located in Pyeongtaek City, South Korea.
PHSI is a portfolio company of Clearlight Partners, a $600 million private equity fund located in Newport Beach, CA. With the support of Clearlight Partners, PHSI is continuing its investment in technology and innovation and has a clear vision to accelerated growth and category leadership.

Scott Brachmann
Vice President, Finance and CFO
Scott leads the financial planning, reporting and systems for PHSI. He brings prior water industry experience and significant analytical and technical financial expertise to the business. Scott’s wealth of food and beverage experience includes directing all global finance and treasury activities with The Nutrasweet Company; accounting, internal controls, cash management, covenant compliance and financial planning leadership with Atlantic Premium Brands, Ltd; and Vice President, Financial Planning and Controls at Culligan International.
Scott graduated from the University of Notre Dame with a BBA in Accounting and from Northwestern University’s Kellogg School of Management with an MBA.
Michael Coleman
Vice President, National Account Sales
Michael leads the development and growth of PHSI’s National Accounts business. Michael is a pioneer in the coffee and beverage industry. He led sales with Standard Coffee for 15 years, helping grow the business regionally and nationally. Early on, Michael recognized the potential of e-commerce in the beverage industry, ultimately leading him to build the business model behind Spectrum Coffee and Water. As President and CEO of Spectrum, Michael created a multi-million dollar business that revolutionized the office coffee industry. In 2010, Spectrum merged with PHSI – Michael plays a primary role in expanding the PHSI business platform.
Robin Householder
Vice President, Purlogix Wholesale Division
Robin leads the Wholesale and International Division activities for PHSI. He is a strong general manager, with over 25 years of water industry experience across engineering, customer service, product management and sales management. Robin held point-of-use water cooler sales and product management leadership positions both domestically and internationally for over 18 years with Oasis Corporation. And he started and has led the Purlogix Wholesale Division of PHSI for over six years.
Robin is a long-time member and accredited speaker for the International Water Quality Association and North American Merchandising Association.
Ron M. Pertl
Vice President, Finance/Business Services
Steve Jeong
President, Enstar Manufacturing
Steve leads the development and manufacturing for PHSI’s core water cooler products. He is a superior technology innovator with significant experience in the electronics and water purification industries. Steve worked with LG Electronics for 12 years as a senior engineer and migrated to the water industry designing and developing point-of-use water filtration systems. In 2000, he established Enstar Co., Ltd as owner and operator, developing several water purifier lines still on the market today. In 2005, Steve merged Enstar with PHSI and continues his engineering and manufacturing leadership for PHSI today.
Steve graduated from Kwangwoon University with a BS in Electrical Engineering. He is the holder of several patents related to electronic control systems and is the recipient of numerous international innovation technology awards.
